1983

Beginning

Founded by Shuji Ibori, father of the current president, as Sanshu Komuten Ltd.

2001

Dissolution

Due to his father Shuji's illness, Sanshu Koumuten (Ltd.) was dissolved. Eiji Ibori, the current representative, was in his third year of college at the time. He had been dependent on his parents his whole life, but this event made him change his mind and he vowed to revive Sanshu Komuten.

2003

Started training in housing sales.

Learned as much as he could for about 4 years.

2007

Revival

In November 2007, Sanshu Komuten was revived and the company name was changed to Age life.

Birth of Age life

The newly born Age life started with a logo featuring a snail's shell.

エッジライフ=AGE LIFE。

The name 'Age life' is a combination of 'age,' the name of the company president, and his wish to 'nurture people's lives through Age life homes.
The company's mission was to create “houses that nurture the lives of their inhabitants,” which would bring happiness to the lives of various generations, give dreams to many generations, and create not ready-built houses, but houses that are more beautiful as time goes by - “Koubiru” houses.
Eiji Ibori, with these thoughts in mind, did everything by himself, including customer service, site work, site cleaning, and leaflet distribution.

The first order he received was for the construction of a new detached apartment building.

2008

long-awaited dream

for a memorable first home construction at Age life.
I realized that the power of one person is very small.The number of staff members increased, and the first completion tour was held.The commission for Age life's first home construction, which was significant in the process of growth, was the “barrier-hardened house” for the Shiida Y. house.

2009

Transforming the organization

By working with a design firm, we were able to create a well-designed home, but we felt that there were issues with coordination in terms of construction, warranty, and other aspects.
The company reformed its organization to one that could design and construct its own homes while maintaining the quality of a design firm.

Registered design firm

obtains design license and registers design firm. Started in-house design.

2010

Team Age life is established.

The proposal method is changed from the traditional method to drawing proposals using models.Established “Team Age life,” a support contractor association.In November, participated in the flame study group “Iesen Study Group”. It became the catalyst for his current growth.

2011

Farewell

On January 19, his father, Shuji Ibori, passes away. This marks a major change in the company.For about 9 years, Shuji was bedridden in the hospital, unable to speak, and lived as if he were watching us grow up.He may have left this world relieved that everything was going to be all right.The death of Shuji, the founder of Age life, was the catalyst for an invisible force to change the company.
Age life's official website was also launched that year.

Office relocation

The office became too small, and in August, the company moved to its current location, where Shuji, the founder, had run a construction company.
Reflecting back on the initial thoughts that led to the founding of Age life, the warehouse next to the office was renovated and "House in Age life town" was opened in November. The concept is to "create a town inside a house.

2012

Media coverage

Featured again in national magazine Lightning Vol.123 with a 4-page special; also selected among Japan’s Top 50 Luxury Housing Brands in Japan Brand Collection, with articles published three years in a row since 2018. Received TV coverage and became the first construction firm to participate in the "U40 Architects Exhibition."

2012 - 2021

National Award Winner

Won the award for five consecutive years from 2012 to 2016 at the Lixil Members Contest, one of the largest housing contests in Japan.

In 2012, “BIG ROOF” by Age life won the Ecology Award of the National Commendation. Featured in the national magazine “Jutaku no Sekkei” (Designing Your Home).

2017

Age life 10th Anniversary

Ten years have passed since the founding of Age life, and in order to change the brand as the new Age life, the logo that had been used until then, which was based on a snail's shell, was changed to the current logo.The concept color was also changed from green to blue for a stylish renewal.

The concept color was changed to reflect the birth of the new Age life, as well as the desire "to be reborn as the new Age life, while keeping the same feelings we had when the company was founded.

All the members of the company are making a fresh start with a renewed spirit.

Age life's first permanent exhibition hall, “Saiba's House Permanent Exhibition Hall” opens.

2019 - 2021

Great Reform

As a venture construction company in the housing industry, we decided to make a change.
Witnessing the many problems that occur in the handover of sales, design, and on-site work, the company breaks down these barriers and creates a team of professionals who can create houses that only people can do, even in today's age of AI.
With the idea that “one person is dedicated to the end, and will be the voice of the customer's home and the customer's site,” we have steered the company toward a one-stop organization.

To switch from mid-career hiring to new graduate hiring, the management philosophy and management vision are newly verbalized. Creating a philosophy-permeating company from a sole proprietorship company.

The corporate philosophy is “Pursuit of Happiness” - the purpose of the company is to bring happiness to the lives of the people we care about through high quality products and sincere service based on home building.

Our corporate vision is “to create the times” - we aim to be a leading company in the housing industry that responds flexibly to the changes of the times and creates the changes of the times.

Philosophy-oriented new graduate recruitment starts

Participating in the first joint company information session. Recruitment members are rallied with the goal of making their presence known with a sense of liveliness and success, given their low name recognition. A revolution is started.
Age life, a small company with no name recognition at the joint information session, created a large enough line to compete with major companies on its own.

First year of new graduate recruitment: 160 applicants.
2019 : 160 applicants, 5 first-year hires join
2020 : 200 applicants, 5 first-year hires join
2021 : 300 applicants, 5 first-year hires join

Failures, setbacks, and partings.

Breaking down the barriers between sales, design, and site operations to build a one-stop organization was an immense challenge, marked by many failures. We even experienced parting ways with long-time members who had supported our growth. We often questioned whether we should return to the original structure instead of continuing the one-stop model.
However, we believed: "Failure is the foundation of success. If you don’t give up until you succeed, you will definitely succeed." Trusting ourselves and our teammates, we continue to move forward.

2021 - 2022

A solid (unshakable) foundation has been completed.

ageLife's unshakable foundation is completed no matter how it is done.

Organizational transformation to an “all-attack, all-defense” team with a breakaway ace. The organization begins to run well and a professional organization begins to take shape.We have completed a sturdy foundation for Age life that will not crumble no matter what happens in the future, even if something unexpected like Corona happens again.
The organizational transformation is now in place to pursue the creation of an organization that will further delight our customers and create real housing that will not be defeated by AI.

40th anniversary of establishment

Successfully completed a major transformation that took three years to complete. A group of manufacturing artists is formed under the slogan "If the customers are pleased, people will call on others, and profits will surely follow.
By layering the ideas of veterans and young people, the company is reborn as the strongest organization in Age life's history, and renews and reconstitutes TEAM Age life, which focuses on support business.

New business development

Starts inn business.
Launched the tuuli brand of lodging facilities.Started hotel construction business, utilizing the custom-made house building technology we have developed up to now, and demonstrating our strength in design.

Started a new detached rental housing business.
We are expanding the scope of our business, which has so far specialized in new housing, remodeling, and renovation work, to include store and office design, medical practice, and detached rental housing, to create new value.

2025

All employees are united in their pursuit of contributing to people and businesses through architecture.The 8th Customer Appreciation Festival is scheduled to be held to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the founding of Age life.
